Celebrate Choices

Saturday Shoes

This morning I slept in later than usual.  (That privilege in itself is something to celebrate!!)  I hadn’t quite decided what I wanted to do today before I went to bed. I had been thinking all week that I wanted to go shopping today, but I knew that my husband may be working today. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a lone shopping trip every now and then…gives me time to think, pray, detox from the previous days if need be, but I wasn’t quite sure last night – or this morning – what exactly I wanted to do with my Saturday.

So, this morning as I said a prayer for guidance on how to spend my time today, I, also, took a moment to thank The Lord for choices. You know, there have been some Saturdays that are booked far in advance, or other days that are so busy that Saturday has to be used to catch up or recoup. So the Saturdays – or any days – that leave us with room to choose are a blessing. Some may not have that privilege.

I recommend being intentional and purposefully allowing free time in your schedule to have an unstructured day regularly…and celebrate it!
