Sometimes, you just need to change things up a bit. I love routine, and I especially love it when “a plan comes together”! Of course, breakfast is part of my regular routine (definitely not usually an option!), but if I decide to have Subway for breakfast, I will almost invariably take it to go.
Today, was different. I had an urge to have a Subway breakfast – at Subway. It was dreary morning…and I mean dreary in the best kind of way! For the most part, I love a rainy day…especially when I can be home, turn on the candles in the windows, maybe light some candles, cook some comfort foods, read a book…and the list of enjoyable activities for a rainy day goes on… I was thinking that since I was hoping to make reservations for Valentine’s weekend with the hubs this morning, I may as well take my iPad and see if just maybe there was room for me at Subway…the food sounded quite inviting, to say the least!
Certainly, Subway turned out to be just that – inviting! As I approached the door, the fresh aromas confirmed that I had made a good decision! I had my pick of seats and found the perfect booth in the corner by the windows, allowing me to have full view of the beauty of a rainy winter’s day.
This perfect morning break in my regular routine (Granted, I had already stuck with my routine for the first few hours of my morning…making the bed, getting dressed, seeing my husband off to work, putting in a load of laundry, and doing my morning devotions.) was yet another reminder of just how the simple things in life can be such a blessing.
Yesterday, I wrote the following words, but it definitely applies to today and every day…
“When God is my fulfillment, everything else is bonus and blessing.”
